The Lighter Side of the Slave River Paddlefest

The Slave River Paddlefest is held every August on the mighty Slave River near Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada. The Slave is known as a high-volume whitewater river, but the festival is not a total gnar-fest of activities aimed only at hardcore paddlers. There are a ton of events catered to beginner and intermediate paddlers, as well as plenty of entertainment and rides for people who have never paddled before. This video shows off the lighter side of the festival. –Leif Anderson
