Day 4: Rock Climbing
Head across the bay to Krabi for a day of high-powered rock climbing. Gecko Adventures runs guided day trips starting at 7 a.m. to Railay beach, one of the world’s best climbing destinations. Apart from offering a stunning tropical seascape, the ancient karst formations — with ample crags, overhangs, outcrops and stalactites — are a climber’s promised land. Tonsai beach is where climbers come to scale single to multi-patch routes graded. Refreshments and lunch are provided as part of the tour fee.
Transportation: The best way to get around on the island is by scooter. For just under $10 per day you could rent a 125cc bike with helmet and ride around to your heart’s content. Don’t be surprised when the renters ask you for your passport, as this form of deposit is common practice in Thailand.
