This ski resort in Colorado just pulled down a foot of powder … in May

Currently, much of the United States, east of the Mississippi River, is experiencing temperatures reaching 80-90 degrees, yet somehow, skiers in Colorado are having a pow day.

As reported by the Denver Post, Arapahoe Basin — which generally has the longest ski season in Colorado — has pulled down over a foot of fresh snow in the past 24 hours.

And lest you think that video is just the result of a resort’s Instagram account trying to hype up a weather anomaly, it’s not. Arapahoe Basin is the only resort still open in Colorado, and on Instagram countless Colorado skiers have rushed to post photos and videos of all the snow that has dropped.

And Colorado somehow isn’t alone with this late spring snowfall.

Grouse Mountain in British Columbia just reopened after a storm brought about 10 new inches of white stuff.

As Unofficial Networks reported, Timberline Lodge in Oregon has seen over a foot of new snow in the past three days, and Squaw Valley in California is seriously considering staying open all year.

This has already been one of the deepest ski seasons in U.S. history. Who says it has to stop just because it’s almost June?
