Watch as 164 skydivers joined together above Chicago to set a new world record for the largest formation skydive. The pro and amateur jumpers were split into seven planes and carried to around 19,000 feet for a stunt that took two years to come together.
“The whole thing’s a puzzle, and it’s just a matter of putting the right people in the right places,” one of the skydivers says in the video. It’s certainly one awe-inspiring puzzle. As the divers pour out of the planes, they only have a short time to converge from all sides while descending at 175mph. The massive jump bested the previous record set in 2012 of 138 skydivers in formation.
