This California kayaker staved off the repeated advances of a hammerhead shark with nothing more than his paddle. The shark can be seen ramming into the back and sides of construction worker Mark McCracken's kayak as his head-mounted camera catches the terrifying action. McCracken doesn't hesitate to defend himself, beating the shark with his paddle at every opportunity as the hammerhead circles angrily.
The shark didn’t want to let him go, however. McCracken told NBC that it "followed me all the way into about three feet of water. Even after I got out of my kayak and made it to the beach, he was sitting right there… it was pretty creepy."
Just last month, another kayaker claimed to have been attacked by a great white shark in the same waters off the Santa Barbara coast.
