Watch a Skier Survive a 1,600-Foot Fall

Big mountain skier Ian McIntosh incredibly walked away from a massive fall while filming Teton Gravity’s Paradise Waits. McIntosh, who grew up backcountry skiing in British Columbia, thought he knew the line he was dropping into. But after his initial turns, he hit an unseen five-foot trench that tore off one of his skis. “From there, my slough took over and there was no way to stop, I pulled my airbag to help prevent against any possible trauma injuries as I tumbled to the bottom,” said McIntosh.
