The world’s most-extreme athlete, Alex Honnold, strikes again. On Jan. 15, he scaled the 2,500-foot face of El Sendero Luminoso in El Potrero, Mexico. And as a free-soloist, he completed the climb without the aid of any safety measures—and in record speed: the climb, which takes an experienced climber days, took him only three hours. Thankfully, Honnold—whose profile “His Life in His Hands” appears in the March issue of Men’s Fitness, on newsstands this week—took along an intrepid camera crew to chronicle the journey. (Warning: If you suffer from height issues, you may experience vertigo.)
