Though only 36, professional mountain biker Aaron Chase is already a legend in the sport — and this helmet-cam video of him barreling through an abandoned mine in New Jersey shows why. "I feel drawn to lost places like this," Chase says. "There are rocks surrounding you, and if you hit the wall, it's lights out." On the latest installment of his "Through My Eyes" video series for Red Bull, Chase teams with fellow New Jersey rider Adam Hauck to explore the grounds of an old zinc mine owned by Hauck's family. In the three-minute video, Chase and Hauck navigate steel staircases and vertical rock-strewn trails — but the most dangerous stunt is when they shoot through the barrel of a mineshaft. "You're like surrounded by death," Chase says, before launching down the narrow dark tube, jumping off a rocky cliff and shooting out the other side of the mountain. "One man's junk is another man's treasure," he says after finishing the stunt. "We plucked one last gem from a place that had been forgotten."
