Wingsuit flier threads needle with incredible high-speed dash through Batman Cave

Alexander Polli, a real-life Batman, on Tuesday released footage showing the renowned daredevil wingsuit-flying through a narrow mountain cave at a mind-boggling speed of 155 mph. (We’ve shortened the clip to get right to the action. Click here for the full version.)

Kids, don’t try this at home and forget you even watched this video.

Polli, a Norwegian-Italian extreme athlete who specializes in tactical wingsuit flying and base jumping, is claiming to have become the first person to have flown on his own power “through a narrow cave on a rugged mountainside.”

(Some might wonder whether the footage is genuine or manipulated. Polli, however, has a long list of impressive achievements and has been touting this project for weeks. It’d be a blow to his credibility if this were in any way manipulated.)

The appropriately named Batman Cave is located in the Roca Foradada Mountains in Montserrat, Spain. As viewers can see, it’s not much wider than Polli is tall.

As stated in the video description, “This extraordinary flight exceeds the level of commitment most fliers would even consider–there can be no attempting, the only option is success!”

The feat was remarkable, perhaps even inspirational. But crazy is another term that comes to mind.
