Most of the classic Steven Spielberg movies — the ones that made him a multiplex demigod and don’t relive the Holocaust — are relegated to the 13-years-and-up stack (trying showing Jaws to your seven-year-old, see how that goes over). His beloved blockbuster about a boy and his home-phoning alien best friend, however, is a great way to wean kids on his particular brand of movie magic.
