Get ready for a wild murder mystery in Knives Out, the new film from Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. Boasting an All-Star cast led by Daniel Craig and Chris Evans, the “original modern day American whodunnit” follows detective Benoit Blanc (Craig, with an amazing Southern accent) as he investigates the death of famous mystery author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) following a family gathering.
The extended family of suspects at the gathering includes Thrombey’s grandson Ransom (Evans, going against type as a jerk), daughter Linda (Jamie Lee Curtis), son Walt (Michael Shannon), as well as Harlan’s nurse, Marta (Ana de Armas). The rest of the stacked cast includes Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense), Don Johnson (Miami Vice), Lakieth Stanfield (Atlanta), Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why), and even an appearance from Yoda himself, the legendary Frank Oz.
Johnson spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the film and working with Evans, saying: “Chris is a terrific actor with great range, and in a change of gear from what we’ve seen him do lately he plays Harlan’s ne’er-do-well spoiled grandson. He turns on the swagger and devilish charm. It’s really fun to watch.”
