After teasing fans with short scenes and photos for months, HBO just dropped the epic final season trailer.
With just six episodes left, there are a lot of loose ends to tie up in Westeros. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) have joined forces and marched North to Jon’s home of Winterfell, while Cersei (Lena Headey) is staying in the protected walls of King’s Landing in the South. All the while, the Army of the Dead is marching into Westeros for an epic final battle.
Take a look:
The final season is expected to have the biggest battle ever filmed in TV history, with production taking over a month to film. It was directed by Miguel Sapochnik (he’s helmed other Game of Thrones battles, too). David Nutter and creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss directed the remainder of the episodes in the series.
Following the conclusion of Game of Thrones, HBO has put a prequel in production starring Naomi Watts. It’ll take place thousands of years before the events of the main series.
Game of Thrones will premiere Season 8 on April 16 on HBO.
