For his new Netflix series The Witcher, Cavill is letting his hair down—literally. Cavill is trading in his Superman cape for some new threads to play the character Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series, based on the fantasy novels and video game franchise.

The series takes place in a world with monsters, magic, wild beasts, and dudes with awesome long hair. Cavill’s Geralt is a monster hunter who is going on a journey to find his place in the world, and as he navigates this dangerous terrain, he’ll get involved with a a powerful sorceress, and a young princess,” according to Netflix’s plot release.

Cavill usually sports a slightly different hairstyle—which is why many think he could be a good James Bond replacement for Daniel Craig—but for The Witcher, Cavill will be getting a bit more gritty.

Here’s a look at Cavill’s new hair and a tease of his costume from the series:

The series has now started production, with actors Lars Mikkelsen, Jodhi May, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Eamon Farren, Maciej Musiał, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte, Anna Shaffer, Joey Batey, and Royce Pierreson also in the cast, according to Deadline. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who worked on Marvel’s Daredevil is the writer, executive producer and showrunner of the series.

The Witcher doesn’t have an official release date, but should be out sometime in 2019.
