Actor Brett Cullen was cast in the film to play Thomas Wayne, father of Bruce Wayne, the future Batman, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the preview for the film, it shows that Wayne is running for Mayor in Gotham, which will be part of the main storyline of the film.
