Villains Can Sometimes Be More Interesting Than Heroes
For as much as everyone loves heroes, who doesn’t love a great villain? This movie also could be DC’s chance to stand out alongside Marvel, as the MCU hasn’t had too many great villains despite 10 years of movies. With the exception of Thanos (Josh Brolin), Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), Hela (Cate Blanchett), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Marvel villains have mostly been forgettable. The Joker has a backstory that has never really been set in stone, leaving Phoenix and Phillips the chance to do something truly interesting with the character.
