Will Winston Be a Bad Guy? (At Least for a Little While)
What Happened in John Wick 3: After helping John Wick fight back against the High Table in a crazy shootout/fight in the Continental hotel, Winston turns on John to please the Adjudicator. Winston shoots John twice and watches as he falls off the roof of the hotel. Winston easily could have fatally shot John at the end, but instead, he hit him with two bullets that were non-lethal. While the fall off the roof probably should have killed John, he’s too badass for that. The result allowed Winston to keep control of The Continental at the end of John Wick 3, but it came at the cost of his friendship with John—at least for the time being.
How It Could Play Out in John Wick 4: Winston is one of the best characters in the series and has long been an ally of John Wick, so even if he’s on the “bad” side to start Chapter 4, expect a potential reunion with John by the end. We could see a situation play out where John Wick and the Bowery King do battle against the High Table (and Winston at first), before something major goes down that makes Winston change sides again. At the end of the day, Winston wants to keep control of the Continental, and if he sees a way he can do that and help John again in Chapter 4, he’ll likely take that route.
