9. Joy (2015)
De Niro's third film with David O. Russell is the weakest of the bunch; the push-pull between the movie's attempt to focus on Jennifer Lawrence's lead and Russell's instinct to produce a boisterous ensemble piece leaves the movie with a lot of underdeveloped characters. But De Niro is still a good fit for the Russell dramedy style as Lawrence's overbearing, financially irresponsible, and blame-deflecting father.
