Developer Sledgehammer Games returns to World War II for the first time since 2008 in this epic first-person shooter. The game’s campaign mode follows the Fighting First from the D-Day invasion to securing the last bridge (the Ludendorff) in Nazi Germany, targeting all of the key conflicts in the European front. The heart of any COD game is multiplayer, and Sledgehammer offers a more challenging gaming experience with the WWII weapons (which are a far cry from the futuristic guns and gadgets from the past few COD games). Players can choose from the Infantry, Airborne, Armored, Mountain and Expeditionary divisions and dive into a deep experience that includes a Headquarters area for training and social interaction—between battles across maps like Gibraltar, the Ardennes Forest, and Pointe du Hoc. Each of the divisions is attuned to a specific weapon. There’s also an intense Nazi Zombies mode, which offers both a horror story campaign and local cooperative play. There’s a ton to keep you busy in this action-packed game.
