South Park: The Fractured But Whole
After a litany of really crappy licensed games over the years, Trey Parker and Matt Smith took things into their own hands and focused on the role-playing genre with South Park: The Stick of Truth. That critical and commercial hit from 2014 comes free with this sequel, which continues your adventures of the “new kid” in the South Park universe. This time around, Ubisoft and South Park Digital take aim at the super hero genre. The game focuses on a battle between a superhero group comprised of characters like Cartman (as the Coon), Kyle (as the Human Kite), and Super Craig against the likes of Kenny (as Mysterion), Stan (as Toolshed), and Wonder Tweek. The show’s crass humor is in full force in this game, which explores the underbelly of South Park like strip clubs and homeless camps. The superheroes open up special powers, which combine with a new combat system that makes this game familiar, yet fresh. With over 20 hours of story and side missions, it’s like watching over 40 episodes of the Comedy Central series—only you’re in control.
