The World’s Fastest Indian (2005)
Though the movie is truly based on the life of the incredible Herbert James “Burt” Munro, from New Zealand, he shares the stage with his beloved and highly modified 1920 Indian Scout motorcycle, the bike he used to set the 1,000cc world record. That record, made in 1967, still holds up this day, and so does this movie featuring an unbelievably charming performance by Sir Anthony Hopkins.
The Scene: You can’t really top the scene in which Burt beats the record. You can actually feel the speed shaking his machine as he throttles it to the limit. It all kicks off with a shaky start, but his team pushes him in the right direction as his fans cheer on excitedly.
