It’s time for Adonis Creed to step back into the ring. The first trailer for Creed II has been released, and if you were worried that the sequel wouldn’t be able to live up to the intensity of the critically-acclaimed 2015 Rocky-spinoff, you can rest easy.
In fact, this Creed installment might also be able to serve as a spiritual sequel to Rocky IV, because this time around, Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis will be fighting against the son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), the Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) rival that killed his father Apollo Creed in the ring.
When things pick up in the sequel, Creed has found success in the boxing ring and outside of it, having started a family with Bianca (Tessa Thompson). But after Drago resurfaces and challenges Creed with his son Viktor (pro boxer Florian Munteanu), Creed will be put to the test like never before. “This guy is dangerous,” Rocky warns Creed. “You don’t think I can beat him?” Creed snaps back.
