One of the most gripping and dramatic covert intelligence missions in recent history is getting the big screen treatment. MGM dropped the first look at Operation Finale, a period thriller starring Oscar Isaac as real-life Mossad agent Peter Malkin, following him as he tries to track down one of the most notorious war criminals of World War II, Adolf Eichmann, played by Ben Kingsley. The film also stars Nick Kroll, Joe Alwyn, Haley Lu Richardson, and Mélanie Laurent.

The dramatic trailer hints at the major confrontation between Malkin and Eichmann when the Israeli team of spies finds Eichmann hiding out in Argentina in 1960. Malkin and his team have to show some restraint despite the atrocities committed by Eichmann and the Nazis, because while they may want vengeance, as Malkin says about the mission: “This is strictly catch and extract.”

Operation Finale, directed by Chris Weitz, will be released on September 14, 2018.
