After more than a year of waiting, it’s time to return to Westworld.
The HBO series is back for Season 2, and after such a long wait—plus the time you’ve spent watching the hundreds of other television shows out there in this “Peak TV” era—you’d be forgiven if you’ve forgotten some of the details about how Westworld finished off it’s freshman year.
Between the multiple timelines, major plot twists, creepy android action, and of course, lots of gunplay, cowboys, and horse riding, there was a lot to keep up with. If you’ve forgotten the gist of the show, it’s basically this: In the near future, Westworld operates as a real-life theme park where rich guests can come and live out their fantasies in a Wild West setting. You can take your family there for some friendly fun, but the majority of guests seem to be into the more dangerous and nearly unlimited activities, like going on bounty hunts for outlaws, battling tribes of Native Americans, getting into crime schemes with bandits, or just hanging out with the robot call girls. There’s a little of something for everyone.
Before things get started on April 22, we’ve put together a handy rundown to give you a refresher of everything you need to remember from Season 1 of Westworld, plus a few things to know about Season 2.
