Season 1 Ended With a Robot Revolution
In the Season 1 finale, Ford orchestrates a grand reception to introduce his new narrative to the Delos board, inviting them all into Westworld for the reveal. What they don’t know—and what the audience finally learns—is that Ford, who all along had seemingly wanted to keep the hosts as part of the amusement park, actually supported the idea his partner Arnold had of helping the hosts gain consciousness and protect themselves against their human captors. The new narrative, in fact, is an android uprising led by Dolores, who shoots and kills Ford (or was it a Ford android? We’ll see), and then starts taking down the Delos board members, too.
While all that’s going on, an upgraded Maeve and self-aware hosts Hector Escaton (Rodrigo Santoro) and Armistice (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal) have infiltrated the Westworld labs in the hopes of escaping. Maeve learns the potential location of her daughter—she’s supposedly in “Park 1,” and that’s not Westworld—but dismisses it and heads towards a train that would take her out of Westworld and into the real world. But after seeing a mother and daughter at the train station, Maeve steps off and remains in Westworld to try and find her daughter.
