It began when he bought a box of Topps Flagship at the Dallas Card Show but didn’t open it there. Instead, he waited until he went grocery shopping that day, and it was in the parking lot there that he decided it was time to rip open a few packs.

And lo and behold, the ultra-rare 2026 Topps Flagship Ring of Honor Foilfractor Tom Brady AUTO 1/1was sitting inside one of those packs, waiting for him to open it.

It holds considerable significance, as the Ring of Honor inserts that returned in 2026 included four autographed cards. Brady is one of them, given that he is a past Super Bowl MVP.

This card in particular is being used to commemorate his former New England Patriots squad coming back from down 28-3 against the Atlanta Falcons on February 5, 2017, and winning 34-28.

Brady filled the stats sheet that night, throwing for 466 yards, completing 43 of his 62 passing attempts, and throwing for two touchdowns.

The card that the collector pulled is now on Fanatics Collect’s Premier Auction. With less than three days left in the auction, the card is already at $10,500 and has 9 bids.

Given the fact that you could buy yourself a 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid or a 2013 Cadillac for under $10k, it’s safe to say that this Brady card is worth a pretty penny.

Tom Brady’s Cards Have Sold For Far More

Given that the aforementioned ‘Brady Grail’ was released in 2026, its value isn’t as high as it will be in the years to come.

There are a few other cards featuring the 7x Super Bowl champion that completely blow this card out of the water in terms of monetary worth.

Take the 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Tom Brady Autograph Rookie Card (#144), for example. This sold for an otherworldly $2,252,855 at a Lelands auction in 2021.

Another is the 2013 Panini Prizm Black Finite Tom Brady (#64) 1-of-1 card (graded PSA 10) that sold for $1,238,080 on September 4, 2026, through an Alt XYZ auction.

It isn’t just cards selling in the millions, however. Brady has staked his claim as a regular in the ‘hundreds of thousands’ playing field as well.

His 2006 Finest SuperFractor 1/1 #105 PSA 10 GEM MINT sold this past September for $336,000 on Fanatics Collect.

All of these sales make sense given that the man featured on the card is the NFL’s unanimous ‘GOAT’. Give the 2026 Ring of Honor Brady a bit more time to simmer, and in a few years, it’s absolutely conceivable for that to inch close to the six/seven figure values mentioned above.

At least 57 Crumbl locations have closed in 2026, according to Restaurant Business, while at least 55 additional franchises are reportedly listed for sale. The closures come as the chain deals with declining sales, falling customer traffic, and growing financial pressure on franchisees.

Crumbl Cookies Has Closed at Least 57 Stores

Crumbl’s rapid expansion helped make it one of the biggest restaurant success stories of the past decade. The company opened its first location in Logan, Utah, in 2017 and grew to more than 1,000 locations by 2024.

But the chain’s store count has started moving in the opposite direction.

Restaurant Business identified at least 57 locations that have closed this year, before accounting for any new openings. At least 55 other Crumbl franchises have been listed for sale on broker websites, raising the possibility of additional closures.

Crumbl still has more than 1,000 locations, so the closures don’t signal the end of the chain. They do, however, represent a significant change for a company that spent years aggressively adding new stores.

Crumbl’s Sales Have Fallen Sharply

The closures come as sales at Crumbl locations have declined considerably.

According to an internal company document obtained by Restaurant Business, sales in August were 70% lower than they were two years earlier. Several franchisees reportedly described August as the worst month in the company’s history.

Customer traffic has also dropped. Placer.ai data showed visits to Crumbl’s more than 1,000 locations were down 32% year over year in August.

Average sales per location have fallen, too. Crumbl’s average annual sales per store peaked at approximately $1.84 million in 2022 before falling to about $1.14 million in 2025.

Crumbl Grew Rapidly After Going Viral

Crumbl’s struggles are particularly notable because of how quickly the company expanded.

The chain became a social media phenomenon during the pandemic, building its brand around oversized cookies, weekly rotating flavors, pink boxes, and highly shareable product launches.

Crumbl grew from just 55 locations in 2019 to 327 in 2021 and more than 1,000 by 2024. Restaurant Business reported that the company generated more than $1 billion in system sales in 2023.

The growth also attracted franchisees. But the economics of individual stores have changed considerably as sales have declined and the cost of opening a location has increased.

Restaurant Business reported that the estimated initial investment for a Crumbl franchise now ranges from roughly $849,000 to $1.47 million, more than five times the listed investment in 2019.

More Crumbl Locations Could Close

For now, Crumbl remains a major national chain with more than 1,000 locations. But the combination of store closures, falling traffic, declining sales, and franchises being put up for sale suggests the company’s rapid-growth era has come to an end.

The 55 franchises currently listed for sale could provide another indication of where the chain is headed. If those locations can’t find buyers or become profitable again, additional stores could ultimately disappear.

The sharp decline comes just weeks after the film’s September 18 theatrical debut. Despite its struggles at the box office, The Weight has been embraced by critics, earning a 94% Tomatometer score from 143 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Russell Crowe’s Best-Reviewed Movie Since 1999

The 94% score makes The Weight Crowe’s best-reviewed movie in 27 years, according to Collider. The last film he starred in to earn a higher Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score was 1999’s The Insider, which currently sits at 96%.

That puts The Weight in some pretty notable company for Crowe. His filmography includes Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, 3:10 to Yuma, and The Nice Guys, but none of his movies since The Insider have matched the critical reception of his latest flick.

Rotten Tomatoes’ critics consensus praises the movie as a “gripping, hard-hitting thriller,” specifically highlighting Ethan Hawke’s performance and director Padraic McKinley’s work.

The film follows Samuel Murphy, played by Hawke, a war veteran who is separated from his daughter and sent to a brutal work camp in Oregon during the Great Depression. Crowe plays Warden Clancy, who offers Murphy a chance at early release if he agrees to help smuggle gold through dangerous wilderness.

The resulting journey brings together prison inmates, greed, betrayal, and survival, giving The Weight a decidedly darker take on the Western genre.

‘The Weight’ Has Struggled at the Box Office

The critical reception hasn’t been enough to keep The Weight in theaters.

The movie opened in 1,504 U.S. theaters on September 18 and made about $2.3 million during its opening weekend. By its second weekend, its theater count had dropped to 910. It fell to 54 theaters the following week before reaching just 21 theaters during the weekend of Oct. 9.

The film has made approximately $3.6 million domestically, according to The Numbers.

Critics Have Been Impressed by the Western Thriller

The Rotten Tomatoes score isn’t the only positive response The Weight has received.

The site’s consensus specifically praises Hawke’s “magnetic performance” and McKinley’s direction, while individual critics have highlighted the movie’s old-school Western sensibilities and tension.

The Times’ Kevin Maher gave the movie four out of five stars, praising Hawke’s performance, while the Sydney Morning Herald’s Jake Wilson described it as the kind of lean action movie that filmmakers such as Walter Hill or Robert Aldrich might have made decades ago.

RogerEbert.com’s Matt Zoller Seitz was also impressed, writing that the film is successful across its various genres, including its prison drama, wilderness adventure, psychological thriller, and political elements.

You Can Watch ‘The Weight’ at Home Starting Today

Fortunately for anyone who missed The Weight in theaters, the movie isn’t disappearing entirely. In fact, as of October 20, the movie is now available digitally.

The object, which measures approximately 11 feet in diameter, was discovered in Scott Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. Federal agencies were notified after the discovery, and authorities have been working to determine where the object came from.

Now, experts believe they may have an answer.

What Was Found in the Minnesota Cornfield?

The large metallic object was discovered in a rural Minnesota cornfield last week as a farmer was harvesting the crop.

According to NewsNation, the farmer estimated the object had been sitting in the field for approximately six weeks. Officials also found serial numbers on the object, which could help determine its origin.

The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office described the object as “presumably a space object” after deputies responded to a report of foreign debris in the field.

The object is approximately 11 feet in diameter and showed signs of charring, further suggesting that it had passed through Earth’s atmosphere. State and federal agencies were notified and began working to identify the object and determine who owns it.

Officials have said there is no danger to the public.

Where Did the Space Debris Come From?

The object’s origin has not been officially confirmed by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, but an analysis by Ars Technica points to a possible connection to a Chinese rocket.

The object appears to match the size of the upper stage of a Chinese Zhuque-2E rocket launched on September 15. The rocket, built by Chinese company LandSpace, carried 10 satellites into orbit before its upper stage was intentionally sent back toward Earth.

According to Ars Technica, the upper stage measured approximately 11 feet in diameter — an unusually close match to the object discovered in Minnesota. The rocket’s trajectory also provides a possible explanation. After launching from China, the rocket traveled south before eventually passing north over the Americas.

Experts were able to connect the September launch with reports of fiery debris seen crossing the sky over parts of the United States. LandSpace has not publicly acknowledged that a piece of its rocket landed in Minnesota.

Why Did a Piece of a Rocket Land in Minnesota?

Rocket stages are regularly disposed of after completing their missions, but the goal is generally to control where they reenter Earth’s atmosphere.

In this case, the evidence suggests the Zhuque-2E upper stage may have been directed toward reentry over the United States after completing its mission.

The upper stage is believed to have performed a burn intended to lower its orbit. However, Ars Technica reports that the resulting trajectory may have brought debris down over the American Midwest rather than a remote area over the ocean.

Most space debris burns up during atmospheric reentry. Larger pieces, however, can survive and reach the ground. The 11-foot object found in Minnesota appears to be one of those pieces.

How Rare Is It for Space Debris to Reach the Ground?

Objects regularly reenter Earth’s atmosphere, including old satellites, rocket stages and other pieces of human-made equipment. Most of that material burns up before reaching the surface, meaning relatively few large pieces make it all the way to the ground.

For now, authorities have not reported any injuries or property damage connected to the object. And while the evidence increasingly points toward the Chinese Zhuque-2E rocket, officials have not publicly confirmed that identification.

That being said, King James and his wife, Savannah, recently opened the doors to their Los Angeles house to Vogue and shared some personal insight into their home life. Why LeBron’s Everyday Menu Choice Is Surprising?

Now, at face value, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream are your run-of-the-mill sweet snacks. No big deal. Plus, there are plenty of stories out there that James likes chocolate chip cookies. But he’s eating them every day! 

Cookies and ice cream aren’t the best for helping one reach peak physical fitness. So the fact that LeBron eats them day in and day out when he’s a trained professional basketball player in great shape is quite surprising. He didn’t say he ate these desserts for a cheat meal. There are numerous individuals (myself included) who have to exercise self-control throughout the week to fight off sweet urges to achieve a certain physique, and LeBron gives in to them with apparently no repercussions on his fitness. 

It’s worth pointing out that it appears LeBron balances out his cookie fixation by again working hard in the gym. Last year he shared his workout plan with NBA great Steve Nash. When the Ohio native is prepping for a season, he’s working out roughly “five days a week,” mixing lifting with “a lot of running, but a lot of just catch-and-shooting.” And then during the season, he works out before joining the team for practice. So if he’s that disciplined in the gym, he may have a little wiggle room in the kitchen.

About Josh Hart’s Wife, Shannon, and Their Two Kids

Born Shannon Phillips and hailing from Greenbelt, Maryland, Shannon met Josh when they were 15. She admitted that she was initially unimpressed with Josh while in high school: “Everyone was like, ‘Who is this kid?’ He would show up to class 30 minutes late, walk into the classroom, take off his backpack, lean back and close his eyes and go to sleep in front of the teacher—like the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen.”

A year after they met, Josh texted Shannon, asking her if she liked him. They went on their first date on Nov. 11, 2011.

Shannon attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she majored in health administration and public policy. She also played soccer there. She and Josh dated throughout college, but they “were on and off.”

Upon graduating, Shannon attended the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She graduated in December 2019 with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. In September 2020, Shannon began working as a nurse.

Helping other people is part of what drew Shannon to nursing. “I love helping people; I love talking to people. I just like that one-to-one interaction as a nurse. You’re in the room with the person, you’re asking them what they need, you’re helping them with whatever,” she said.

Josh proposed to Shannon in December of that year, and they tied the knot in Miami on Aug. 28, 2021. The newlyweds traveled to London, Italy, and Greece for their honeymoon. Almost two years later, Shannon gave birth to twin boys, Hendrix Aaron and Haze Dana, on May 12, 2023. Per PEOPLE, Shannon and Josh’s kids made their modeling debut in September 2025 at the Rookie Kids “Runway on Broadway” fashion show.

Shannon and Josh ensure that connection is one of the pillars of their marriage. Shannon also emphasizes the importance of providing unconditional support. “Every day we just continue to support each other and make sure each other feels important in our lives,” she told PEOPLE.

And yet, somehow, Blood of My Blood continues to find ways to surprise us, drawing us in like the buzz of the standing stones at Craigh na Dun.

That is particularly true in season 2, which has spent much of its time recontextualizing pieces of Outlander history. Familiar faces including Mrs. Graham, Reverend Wakefield, John Grey’s father, Rupert, and Angus have all appeared, but their presence has generally carried more weight than a simple Easter egg.

I recently spoke with Outlander: Blood of My Blood showrunner and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts about the decisions behind those connections, the fan theories surrounding the series and why he isn’t interested in telling viewers exactly what everything means.

Matthew Roberts on ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’

Men’s Journal: When Outlander ended, you talked about not wanting to definitively tell fans how they should interpret the ending. Are you approaching Blood of My Blood with that same philosophy? Can fans expect some of the connections and mysteries we’ve been speculating about to eventually have more concrete explanations?

Matthew B. Roberts: Whether the story goes where they think it’s going to go or it goes in a different direction, all good for me. I’m never going to interpret a story. You can take what you want from every episode. It’s going to mean something different to everybody.

How these relationships play out, people’s own personal lives are interjected into these stories. I’ve watched episodes of television when I was younger and they mean one thing to me. They mean something different now when I watch them.

I think that’s kind of the legacy of all these shows. When you watch something in different periods of your life, they mean or read something different. So I don’t like to just say definitively, “This is what it means.”

But I will say that speculation is great. I love the fan theories. I love that they dig into it. I love that they’re engaged.

I will say that I have a plan, and it may not be the plan. And it may look like it’s going down the road that you’re going. Like, you think, “Oh, hey, see, I told you so.” But I almost guarantee that when we get to the end, it’ll be like, “I didn’t see that coming.”

Men’s Journal: One theory I’ve seen pop up is that baby William could eventually become the brother Jamie refers to as Willie in Outlander. It’s obviously the kind of theory fans love to run with. How much do you enjoy letting fans speculate versus wanting to tell the story and have it land in a specific way?

Roberts: I love when fans speculate. I really do. I love that they’re engaged. And I think if they’re talking about it, then we’re doing something right.

Men’s Journal: Something I’ve noticed particularly this season is how much Blood of My Blood is recontextualizing things we already know from Outlander. It’s not just the bigger connections. Seeing characters like Mrs. Graham and Reverend Wakefield again, or even Rupert and Angus, carries real emotional weight because of the history we already have with them.

When you’re deciding which pieces of Outlander history to bring into this story, what makes a character or connection feel like it can actually deepen Blood of My Blood rather than just being an Easter egg for longtime fans?

Roberts: Well, you answered your own question. It has to deepen the emotional arc. If it’s just somebody walking into a cameo and that doesn’t do anything, they have to somehow bring something to the story arc.

For me, it’s always something emotional. It’s not transactional. It’s not an action. With Mrs. Graham, without her, Henry doesn’t go. He can’t go.

Men’s Journal: And it’s kind of Claire that way as well, and Roger. I never realized the gravity that she had until Blood of My Blood. I was like, man, she is important to this story.

Roberts: If you take some of these characters out, some of the story doesn’t happen. And I think it’s even more important than simply helping Henry escape. It’s when Mrs. Graham tells him, “I believe you.” Before he gets there, everyone thinks he’s insane. That moment keeps him on track.

And that keeps him, you know, sane, so to speak. Without that, you don’t know where he would go. You don’t know if he would give up. But he didn’t give up because of that.

Men’s Journal: I think that was one of the bigger surprises of the season. As a viewer, Henry’s return to the 18th century caught me off guard when it happened. What did bringing him back into that world allow you to explore about his relationship with Julia and the person he’s becoming that you couldn’t have explored if you’d taken the story in another direction?

Roberts: You mean if I would have kept him in the 20th century?

Men’s Journal: Right. We could have had another 20-year separation like we had in Outlander, and I think people were expecting that.

Roberts: Yeah, and I wanted him to. That was the dream scenario where you go, “Oh, he’s going to be the Claire of the story and stay away for 20 years. Julia is going to live in the back.

Men’s Journal: And we’ve got this profound buildup.

Roberts: Yeah! No, in my mind, he was always going back. They were always going to find each other. They were always going to fight through this together and then ultimately try to figure out the why of it all.

The other thing is, we’re a show where most of the characters in the show, you know what happens to them. You know their outcome. You’ve literally either seen them die or you know you’ve heard their deaths talked about.

What I love in exploring this is I don’t think inherently we’re different human beings. I think our characters stay the same. It’s how you deal with things that sometimes change.

So Dougal and Colum at 19 and 20 years old are totally different guys than you see in Outlander. How did they become those guys?

How did Murtagh become this curmudgeonly, kind of guarded guy? When you see Murtagh as a heart-on-his-sleeve, open, kind of carefree guy, you go, “Oh, how did that happen?”

And I think with Brian and Ellen and Henry and Julia, you want to see little tidbits of how Claire’s DNA was made and who she is, but not from nurture, more from nature. Whereas Jamie is more nurture and nature. So you can see what he got from Brian and Ellen.

And I like that it’s not necessarily what you would expect. Some of the things Ellen gives him make him more fiery and temperamental. Especially for the time period, you wouldn’t necessarily make that connection.

Amazon Prime Video’s The Terminal List: True Believer premieres October 21, continuing the story of Navy SEAL James Reece (Chris Pratt) while expanding the world introduced in the original 2022 series. But for fans who watched last year’s The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, the new season also marks the return of a character who has quickly become a favorite: Raife Hastings, played by Tom Hopper.

Set years after the events of Dark Wolf, True Believer finds Raife working in the private sector and selling weapons around the world. But despite trying to build a life outside of the operator world, he remains haunted by the events of his past — including what happened to Ben Edwards and the guilt he carries over not being there for Reece when his family was killed.

Hopper, who was already a fan of Jack Carr’s books before taking on the role, spoke with Men’s Journal about Raife’s evolution, his complicated relationship with Reece, why audiences have connected with the character, and the part of Raife’s story he hopes the series eventually gets to explore.

Men’s Journal: When you first played Raife in Dark Wolf, audiences were meeting a character they didn’t really know yet. Now you’re coming into True Believer with people already very invested in him. Did that change the way you approached the character this time?

Tom Hopper: No. I always approach any role the same way, which is to play the truth of the reality that they’re in. What’s interesting about Raife this season is that he’s six or seven years on from where we saw him in Dark Wolf, but he’s still carrying a lot of that weight — what happened with Ben and the guilt of not being there for Reece when his family was killed.

In True Believer, Raife is working in the private sector, selling weapons worldwide, and he’s trying to make a job for himself. He’s very much a fish out of water. He’s working in an environment that he’s not used to, and he’s probably still seeking that operator lifestyle that he’s missing, which he ultimately falls back into because of everything that’s happening with Reece.

But in terms of my approach, it’s always the same. As long as I can play the truth of the character, then I’m hopefully doing my job.

Men’s Journal: How much of what happened to him in Dark Wolf is he still carrying when we see him again this season?

Tom Hopper: He’s still carrying a lot of it. He won’t admit it to himself, but he is.

That’s the thing with Raife. He’s very layered, and he will never let the men around him know the stuff that he’s dealing with in order to be a better leader. The guy could probably use some therapy after everything last season.

Men’s Journal: It was a bit of a hard watch at times.

Tom Hopper: He could do with a chat or two.

But that’s the thing — he never opens up about it. He’s always calm. He just locks it all away and will never let that affect the job at hand for him.

What I like about the way they’ve done Raife this year is that you can see that starting to chip away. You can see that it’s in there, chipping away. As we go through the season, he lets us know that by the fight that he wants. He feels like he needs to fight for something because he holds that guilt.

Men’s Journal: You were a fan of Jack Carr’s books before you played Raife. How important was that to you when you were bringing him to life?

Tom Hopper: I read Savage Son well before all the stuff came out about the show. I was a big fan of Savage Son, which, of course, is the one where Raife is very prominent as well.

So the idea of playing him and bringing him to life — especially for the Jack Carr fans — I took very seriously. I wanted to make sure I brought him to life authentically, or at least to the vision of what I thought all the fans would want. So, yeah, it was very important to me.

Men’s Journal: Was there a particular part of Raife’s story from the books that you were hoping would eventually make it onto the screen?

Tom Hopper: I want to make Savage Son. I think Savage Son has a story.

I want to make sure that we get to the point where we see what Raife’s family means to him. He’s an incredibly strong family man, and what the Hastings family name means to him. That’s the bit I want to be able to get to. I’m very hopeful that we get to do Savage Son and tell those stories and learn about his story back in Africa.

At one point, I would love to explore his life in Africa. In the books, we get to see a bit of that in True Believer, but we don’t explore that in the show. Him back in Africa, and really seeing Raife in his element — what he was brought up doing — that’s the bit I’d love to explore.

Men’s Journal: Raife has really become a fan favorite, particularly after Dark Wolf. What do you think it is about him that audiences connect with?

Tom Hopper: I think there’s a relatability to Raife. I think there are a lot of people out there who hold things back. A lot of people try and stay strong for the people around them, and they hold it back. They lock it all up inside.

But there’s also something about him — I don’t know if it’s the fact that they relate to him, but I think there’s probably something more about wanting to know more about him because he doesn’t let much go. He doesn’t put all his cards on the table.

I think that can be interesting as an audience member because you want to peel back the onion. You want to peel off those layers, and he doesn’t let those layers drop. He holds it all tight.

Men’s Journal: Raife is such a controlled character — very calm, even when everything around him is falling apart. What do you think Raife understands about Reece that maybe Reece doesn’t quite understand about himself?

Tom Hopper: I think Raife knows the real Reece. Raife knows Reece before he was a SEAL, and they both know that about each other.

He knows the boy behind the man. When men grow up, they’re still really the 12-year-old boys that used to be in there. I think when you’re aware of a friend’s weaknesses and vulnerabilities, when something happens to them, you truly know what that’s done to them.

Reece has been so defined by his career as a SEAL and who he is and what that means, and trying to just push on and push through. But underneath it, Raife knows exactly what that means to Reece and what he’s been through.

I think there’s something about that boyhood friendship that goes far deeper than just them being SEALs.

Men’s Journal: Now that you’ve lived with Raife through two projects, what do you understand about him that you might not have when you first took on the role?

Tom Hopper: I think what’s interesting about guys like this is their vulnerabilities. On the page, when you first read them, they just come across as the tough-guy SEAL.

What’s more interesting is what makes these really tough guys who have to do extreme things more vulnerable. Finding vulnerabilities in warriors, I always find an interesting thing anyway, because it’s the human behind the armor.

That’s what I think we see a bit more of this season with Raife — how he’s dealing with all those things from his past. They’re not obvious. They’re not things that you’re going to see straight away, but I like to think that I put them in there. There’s color behind the eyes that lets you know he’s dealing with that.

For me, that’s way more interesting than just being the tough guy. I think finding the human being behind him this year is really interesting.

The Terminal List: True Believer premieres October 21 on Prime Video. As for whether fans will eventually get to see Hopper bring Savage Son to the screen — and explore more of Raife’s family, his history in Africa, and the man behind the operator — that remains to be seen.

The Good

Rey Mysterio Jr.

As someone that has lived north of San Diego for most of my life, I thought it was really cool to see Mysterio be involved in the match with Chad Gable and Dragon Lee. Mysterio revolutionized aerial wrestling when he was breaking into the sport, and it’s amazing that he can still deliver at his age. The match with Gable and Lee was excellent, elevated by a hometown crowd that wanted to see Mysterio win the belt. Personally, I would’ve liked it if he had been given that moment, but putting people in their hometown is more of an AEW thing than a WWE thing. Anyone who remembers Jim Ross’ booking any time WWE went to Oklahoma could tell you that.

Other Highlights

• Roman Reigns’ involvement on the show lifted everything he was involved in. His back-and-forth with Sami Zayn was effective, touching on their shared history while also drumming up interest their match at Crown Jewel. Him coming out at the end to join the rest of the Bloodline to face off with 946 moved that storyline from midcard to main event. It’s the dichotomy of Reigns as Raw revolves around him, which is why it struggles so much when he’s not there.
• He was already referenced, but let’s spotlight Gable for his continued work as IC champ. It’s been one excellent match after another. I’m guessing Ethan Page is next. I’ve always liked Page, but he’s been nothing for months. We’ll see what Gable can do with him.
• Bayley and Lyra Valkyria are set for their big blowoff match next week. Here’s hoping it brings some real violence to the No DQ stipulation as this is a long-running feud that deserves it. It’s also possible this will be Bayley’s last match in WWE. The finish should tell us. If Lyra goes over strong, I’d imagine it’s time to start the countdown until we get the “Bayley is All Elite” tweet from Tony Khan.

The Bad

Dominik Mysterio

On the same show his 51-year-old father got to shine, Dominik was left to engage in ringside shenanigans with a little person wearing an oversized Funko Pop head. There have been so many chances for WWE to get behind Dominik, and instead it just continues to book him in the exact same way. WWE’s “we’ve got time” approach to the roster is why almost everyone in the main event scene is on the wrong side of 40.

Other Lowlights

• So, Joe Hendry engaged in one of the most unfunny running gags of recent memory by making fun of JD McDonagh, which was bizarrely cheered on by Joe Tessitore because reasons, only to lose via pinfall to a guy that never wins. This main-roster run is going great for Hendry. Maybe if this garbage is mercifully over, we can hit the reset button on Hendry and try something else.
• It was demoralizing to see Iyo Sky reduced to a pointless tag-team partner for someone else’s feud. She was one of the most popular female wrestlers on the roster at one point. WWE has massively cooled her off.

The Ugly

Bron Breakker

After electing not to give Breakker the briefcase at Money in the Bank, WWE had him lose to Penta on Raw. Yes, there was interference from Je’Von Evans to set up Penta’s win, but before that even happened, Penta kicked out of Breakker’s spear. Breakker also needed help from Austin Theory, who does nothing but take bumps these days, and Maxxine Dupri. And where was Bronson Reed? I’m mystified by what WWE is doing with Breakker. Even if he ends up dominating Evans in the feud, and I doubt he will, he’s still in a lower spot than he was with Oba Femi. A lot of people thought Breakker was winning the title on the first Raw of 2026. Now, he’s just another midcarder.

The nine-episode superhero limited series premiered in October 2019, starring Regina King as masked cop Angela Abar.

On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 96% score from 119 critic reviews. Audiences were cooler, giving it a 57% Popcornmeter.

At the 2020 Emmys, Watchmen won 11 awards from a season-leading 26 nominations. No comic-book adaptation had won a top Emmy before it, per Variety.

Accepting outstanding limited series, Lindelof dedicated the win to the massacre’s victims and survivors.

“The fires that destroyed Black Wall Street still burn today,” he said. “The only way to put them out is if we all fight them together.”

How the Tulsa Race Massacre Became the Heart of Watchmen

Lindelof first read about Tulsa in Ta-Nehisi Coates’ 2014 Atlantic essay, “The Case for Reparations.” He recalled the experience to NPR in October 2019.

“I just didn’t see the world in the same way anymore,” he said. 

“Mr. Coates mentioned Black Wall Street, which I had never heard of. So I bought this book called ‘The Burning,’ that was all about the Tulsa massacre, and I read it cover to cover in a couple of days.

“And right at that same time, I was being approached about Watchmen, and I was trying to think about one of the things that made Watchmen sort of electric was this sort of blending of ‘is that real history or is that not real history?'” 

The Tulsa Race Massacre unfolded across May 31 and June 1, 1921, when a white mob attacked residents and businesses in Tulsa’s prosperous Black Greenwood district. Historians estimate that as many as 300 people may have died.

Writer and producer Cord Jefferson later called the massacre “the original sin of our show.”

Pilot director Nicole Kassell had never heard of the massacre until reading the script, per No Film School. She later spoke with Slate about filming.

“Our Day One of production was Day One of the massacre,” she said. “We had a priest come and bless the set.”

Lindelof later said he had no creative reason to continue Watchmen, describing its nine episodes as a complete story. The series also won four Television Critics Association awards, including program of the year.

Chmerkovskiy has been suspended for next week’s show after appearing to reference Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slap while defending his wife, fellow pro Jenna Johnson. It’s the first known suspension of a pro dancer in the show’s history.

Carrie Ann Inaba’s Critique

The controversy started during last week’s “Super Bowl Night” episode, when judge Carrie Ann Inaba criticized Johnson and her celebrity partner, actor Harry Shum Jr.

Inaba called out a lift in the couple’s samba, even going as far as reading the definition of a lift during her critique.

Chmerkovskiy then took to TikTok to seemingly defend his wife, writing, “You almost saw the Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night.”

Obviously, the post was widely seen as a reference to Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage at the 2022 Academy Awards. Chmerkovskiy later deleted it.

‘Inappropriate’

On Saturday, BBC Studios, which produces the ABC competition series, confirmed that Chmerkovskiy would be held out of Tuesday’s “Dedication Night” episode.

“The well-being of everyone who works on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is non-negotiable,” the company said in a statement via Fox News. “Val’s social media post was inappropriate and does not reflect the values or standards expected of anyone connected with the show. As a result, he will not participate in next week’s show.”

In the meantime, Chmerkovskiy’s celebrity partner, Jenna Dewan, will dance with Alan Bersten. Bersten was eliminated in Week 2 alongside his partner, Giada De Laurentiis.

Chmerkovskiy Apologizes

Chmerkovskiy has apologized to Inaba both publicly and privately. In a message on his Instagram Stories, he said that he never intended for the post to come across the way it did.

“In a moment where my instinct was to defend my wife, I made a poor decision to reference a meme to ‘keep my wife’s name’ out of the conversation, without stopping to think through what else that reference could imply, which was genuinely never my intention,” he wrote.

“Carrie Ann certainly didn’t deserve to get caught in the middle of my bad judgment, and I hate that she was,” Chmerkovskiy added.

He also said that he didn’t want the situation to take away from Dewan or the upcoming episode.

“The last thing I want is to become a distraction from an important week or from the incredible work my dance partner Jenna Dewan is putting in,” he wrote. “Please send Carrie Ann, Jenna, and the whole ‘DWTS’ family lots of love during Dedication Night. I’ll be watching and cheering everyone on!!”

It’s certainly a unique situation that seems to be a first in the show’s history.

One of the top stories in WWE this year has been the large number of superstar departures. Since April, WWE has parted ways with more than three dozen superstars, including the New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods), Kairi Sane, Sheamus, Apollo Crews, the Wyatt Sicks, Aleister Black and Zelina Vega.

In August, news broke that former United States Champion Ilja Dragunov also left WWE following the expiration of his contract. After weeks of speculation, Dragunov debuted for AEW during Saturday’s WrestleDream pay-per-view.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show (h/t F4WOnline.com), Dragunov said that various factors played into his decision to leave WWE, including the chance to explore a new chapter.

“It was an accumulation of a lot of things,” Dragunov said. “An accumulation of, of course, the offering, because we all know, at the end of the day, it’s the business. But it’s also definitely based on my feeling of, like, how do I want to work creatively? Do I need a scenery change? Is the scenery change something where I can see myself staying forever?

“Because you’ve got to consider a lot of factors. Like, I spent the most of my 20s in WWE. That’s a very, very long time. And the landscape in this beautiful business changed. So the beautiful thing is nowadays we have other opportunities. And for me personally, after such a long time being with a company, to not seek out new opportunities, maybe a place where I see myself more fitting — who wouldn’t do that?”

Dragunov was asked if WWE’s final contract offer featured a raise or a pay cut (New Day and Sheamus both turned down restructured deals that included giant pay cuts), but he declined to get into details, only saying it wasn’t “satisfying” enough.

Ilja Dragunov Won Three Championships in WWE

Over his seven years in WWE, the 33-year-old Dragunov won three championships: The United States Championship, the NXT Championship and the NXT United Kingdom Championship.

Dragunov’s United States Championship reign spanned 70 days, ending at the hands of Carmelo Hayes on the Dec. 26, 2025, episode of SmackDown.

The Scottish actor played the British secret agent in seven films, beginning with Dr. No in 1962. His career also included acclaimed performances in The Untouchables, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Hunt for Red October.

However, in the late 1990s, Connery turned down the role of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy because he could not understand the story. New Line Cinema offered him the role of the wise wizard who guides Frodo Baggins and his companions.

Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels, the three films follow Frodo and a fellowship of allies on a mission to destroy a powerful ring. They must succeed before its creator, Sauron, can reclaim it and dominate Middle-earth.

The role eventually went to Ian McKellen, whose portrayal became one of the trilogy’s defining performances.

Why Sean Connery Turned Down Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings

Connery reportedly received an offer of $30 million for the trilogy, plus a 15% share of the trilogy’s box-office returns. The three films grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide. Later reports estimated that the deal could have earned him as much as $450 million.

In a 2005 interview with the New Zealand Herald, the award-winning actor admitted that Tolkien’s fantasy world never made sense to him.

“I read the book. I read the script. I saw the movie. I still don’t understand it,” Connery said.

Even as he turned down the role, Connery graciously praised McKellen’s performance, saying, “I believe [he] is marvelous in it.”

In a later interview with Empire, Jackson reflected on the casting decision and explained why he thought McKellen was a better fit for the production.

“Look, I’m only speculating. But I just can’t imagine Sean Connery being as supportive as Ian McKellen was, and being as willing to do whatever we wanted as Ian was, and being as tolerant as Ian was,” he said.

Connery’s decision became a notable example of a missed opportunity in Hollywood. The Lord of the Rings trilogy became one of cinema’s biggest critical and commercial successes. Across the three films, the franchise received 28 Academy Award nominations and won 17 Oscars.

The Return of the King, the trilogy’s third and final film, won all 11 Academy Awards for which it was nominated, including Best Picture. This achievement tied the record for the most Oscar wins by a single film.

Everybody Loves Raymond, the hit comedy series that first premiered on CBS in September 1996, has been a near-permanent fixture on Paramount+’s top ten TV shows for over two years in the U.S., beaten only by crime shows NCIS (966 days) and Criminal Minds (914 days).

The sitcom, which peaked at number two on Paramount+’s top ten, has been on the list for almost twice as long as South Park, the only other comedy series on the chart (with data obtained via FlixPatrol), which has charted for 453 days, as of October 20.

Most impressively of all, the Ray Romano-led sitcom outcharts Paramount+ tentpole shows such as MobLand, and the Taylor Sheridan juggernauts Mayor of Kingstown and Yellowstone, despite them only being a fraction of the CBS show’s age.

For those unfamiliar, Everybody Loves Raymond follows Ray Barone, an Italian-American sports writer who lives with his wife Debra and their three children on Long Island, New York, across the street from his parents, Marie and Frank Barone. Marie, a needling, controlling woman, and Frank, a grumpy old man who lives up to his name a little too well, make for nightmare in-laws and heads of the family for Debra and their other, less-favored son, Robert Barone. Naturally, hijinks ensue whenever the family gets together.

Alongside Romano, Everybody Loves Raymond, which ran for 210 episodes across 9 seasons from 1996 to 2005, co-starred Patricia Heaton (The Middle, Beethoven), Brad Garrett (Christopher Robin, Single Parents), Monica Horan (Hot in Cleveland, The Bold and the Beautiful), Doris Roberts (The Honeymoon Killers, Remington Steele), and Peter Boyle (Young Frankenstein, The X-Files). Child actors and real-life siblings Madylin, Sullivan, and the late Sawyer Sweeten respectively played Ray and Debra’s daughter Ally Barone and twin sons Michael and Geoffrey Barone.

Executives at Atlantic Records disagreed.

“They really wanted another ‘Brown Sugar’ rather than a ballad, and there were some heated arguments,” Marshall Chess, president of Rolling Stones Records, said in the book “According to The Rolling Stones” as quoted by antiMusic.

The band prevailed, and the tender “Angie” became their seventh U.S. No. 1 hit for the week ending Oct. 20, 1973.

“I don’t think you can write really interesting rock ‘n’ roll songs if you can’t get into ballads and slower stuff,” Keith Richards, the band’s guitarist who wrote “Angie,” told Robert Sandall in an interview for the liner notes to Jump Back: The Best of the Rolling Stones 1971-1993.

According to his memoir “Life,” Richards wrote the song while undergoing treatment for heroin addiction in a Switzerland facility. Speculation about its inspiration centered on two Angelas: David Bowie’s then-wife and Richards’ daughter.

In the Jump Back liner notes, Richards said the name Angela was starting to “ring around the house” after his daughter’s birth but added he wasn’t into writing songs about his children. However, in “Life,” Richards claimed he didn’t know the baby’s gender yet while writing the song.

‘” Angie” just fitted. I mean you couldn’t sing ‘Maureen’…” he told Sandall.

He added in “Life” as quoted by antiMusic, “…it was not about any particular person, it was a name, like, ‘Ohhh, Diana.’”

Despite the record company’s hesitation, “Angie” was a hit domestically and abroad. Goats Head Soup was the Rolling Stones’ third consecutive album to top the Billboard 200 and eventually sold three million copies in the U.S.

“it’s quite a straight, schmaltzy pop tune, with the piano and string arrangement so prominent, which is probably why it was so popular in Latin countries at the time,” Mick Jagger, the band’s lead singer, told Sandall. “It was definitely a change of pace for us, almost like a reaction to the harder sound of Exile.”

Their son, Arthur Elijah, arrived in September 2020, and the couple married on July 22, 2023, in Southampton, New York. The wedding marked another milestone for a pair whose relationship had grown from those early conversations into a life together.

“He just has this personality where he wants to motivate you,” de Paula told ESPN in 2021 about Embiid. “His friends, his family and now with Arthur – he pushes all of us to be the best of ourselves. That’s the type of person you want to have around.”

Earlier today, Puck reported that the rapper and Roc Nation founder had plans to follow in Bad Bunny’s footsteps and take to the stage during America’s biggest television event. The publication cited Roc Nation’s $5 million-a-year deal with the National Football League (NFL) — which first launched in 2019 and was renewed in 2024 — as the reason why Jay-Z was the natural next step for the halftime show.

Other publications, however, have said that neither the NFL nor Roc Nation has confirmed these reports, and has not responded to their requests for comments regarding the rumor. Over on the sports betting app Polymarket, other favorites have been named, including Combs, who has a 5% chance of headlining the event.

Combs has plenty of NFL performance expertise under his belt, having previously performed during the Thanksgiving Day game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys back in 2021. Following Bad Bunny’s critically acclaimed performance earlier this year, the country star was asked during an interview on The Zach Sang Show if he would be interested in doing the halftime show — to which he showed great enthusiasm.

“Hell yeah, I would do it,” the “Fast Car” singer responded. “I would do it right now.”

As of today, Jay-Z was trading at 95% on Polymarket, with fellow music superstars Post Malone (20%), Miley Cyrus (13%), Harry Styles (13%), and Olivia Rodrigo (12%) taking up the top spots on the website. Alongside Malone, other country stars, such as Morgan Wallen (12%), are ahead of Combs, who sits slightly below at 5%.

Of course, these numbers will be subject to change as further reports about Super Bowl LXI, set to take place on Sunday, February 14, 2027, come to surface, but Combs’ odds could jump up significantly, thanks to his impressive resumé.

Created with Glasgow-based watchmaker Paulin, the 39.7mm automatic dive watch features a genuine gold-plated gilt dial, a stainless steel case, and a Japanese Miyota movement. Unlike modern watches that simply imitate the look of vintage gilt dials, the Mara uses a traditional process to achieve the real thing. It’s an impressive level of craftsmanship for a watch at this price—and another standout collaboration from Hodinkee.

“Mara” is Scots Gaelic for “of the sea,” and for the Glaswegian brand’s dive watch, Hodinkee and Paulin wanted to resurrect a mostly vanished, traditional gilt dial-making technique. To that end, the pair tapped Paulin’s production partner in Germany to execute the gilding process. Each dial produced for the time-only watch starts as a brass blank. It is first electroplated in gold.

The minute track and text are then printed with a chemical resistant barrier before the dial is galvanic-bath-plated matte black. When the barrier is stripped away, the gold is revealed below the finish. The remaining print is applied in lacquer, and covered with a protective clear coat. The hour markers are hand-painted in antiqued-tone, Super-LumiNova, matched to the fill on the sword-style hands and bezel. The “Glasgow” printed at 4 o’clock on the standard Mara’s dial has been replaced with a gilt “Hodinkee,” and the 100m depth rating reads in meters first, as it does on vintage mid-century gilt-dial divers.

The 39.7mm case is crafted in 316L stainless steel. The light grey 120-click unidirectional bezel wraps a double-domed sapphire insert with a traditional dive scale. The bezel overhangs the case at 12 and 6 o’clock and its edge, along with the watch’s screw-down crown are textured with polished, sphere-shaped indentations for easier adjustment when submerged.

According to Sarah Reid, Hodinkee’s director of limited edition, the Mara was a labor of love. “We’ve spent years obsessing over vintage dive watches, and gilt dials have always been one of those details that stop us in our tracks,” Reid said. “When we started talking with Paulin about the Mara, we knew we didn’t want an impression of a gilt dial; we wanted the real thing, made the way it was in the 1950s. Having worked with anOrdain before, we knew this was a team that wouldn’t shy away from doing things the hard way, and they’ve delivered a watch that captures everything we love about mid-century divers while remaining unmistakably Paulin.”

The Mara’s timekeeping is powered by a Japanese Miyota 9039, uni-directional, automatic caliber. The movement offers a 42 hour power reserve and is accurate to -10 ~ +30 seconds per day.

The watch arrives on a classic grey woven NATO strap with a custom Hodinkee-branded stainless steel buckle.

What to Do With Your Pumpkins After Halloween

Compost Your Pumpkins 

One of the most eco-friendly ways to repurpose pumpkins is by composting them. Jessica Mercer, Ph.D., horticulturist at Plant Addicts, explains that “you can use pumpkins as the ‘green’ material for a compost pile because they are moist and break down fairly quickly. Combine them with carbon-rich ‘brown’ materials like fall leaves.” Once the compost cycle is over, you can add it to your garden beds to raise organic matter and help build soil structure. 

How to Compost Your Pumpkins

Before you get excited about composting your pumpkins, note that it does involve a few steps, especially if you decorate them. Mercer shares important steps to take: 

1. Remove any decorations: Think of anything you added that wasn’t naturally in the pumpkin, such as candles and stickers. 
2. Cut your pumpkin into small pieces: This step speeds up composting and makes it easier to fit in a compost bin, if you have one. 
3. Mix them with other organic materials: Dried leaves, cardboard, or straw are good options. This process helps “control odors and animal activity,” Mercer notes. 
4. Rotate: Composting takes time, so rotate your compost bin or pile periodically. 

Leslie F. Halleck, CPH, author of “Home Greenhouse Revival,” adds, “Once [pumpkin] compost is broken down to the texture of a loose dark crumbly soil, it’s an excellent organic amendment for your garden beds.”

Make a Meal 

Pumpkins can last up to 12 weeks if they are intact and healthy. If you carve them, you can save the pieces and seeds you removed. Pumpkins are tasty and rich in nutrients. Donate Them to Your Local Animal Farm

Many animal farms accept pumpkin donations after Halloween to feed their animals. Halleck recommends checking with your local farms or even neighbors who have livestock. Also, if you have chickens, they “will make quick work of them.” Call your local animal farm to see if they accept pumpkin donations. Alternatively, check the Pumpkins for Pigs website, which has a directory of farms nationwide that accept pumpkins.

Feed Them to Local Wildlife 

Although you may not want to encourage wildlife to hang out in your yard, pumpkins can be a treat. Deer, squirrels, and birds love them. Halleck shares important advice before you feed leftover pumpkin to an animal, or even yourself: “Just make sure before you feed wildlife (or you) with your leftover pumpkins that any and all non-organic matter has been removed.”

Bring Them to Your Town’s Composting Program Site 

Many towns across the country run composting programs where you can bring leftover pumpkins to be composted. Some towns also host pumpkin smash or drop-off events on specific days where you can bring your pumpkins. For instance, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation shares pumpkin drop-off events and lists several places where you can donate them.

Save the Seed to Grow Your Own 

If you’re up for growing your own pumpkins, you can save the seeds and try growing them next year. Mercer explains a very simple process: “Remove the seeds, clean and dry them thoroughly, and store them in a cool and dry location until spring.” She also emphasizes that, depending on the pumpkin variety you have, next year’s results may look different because of cross-pollination with other squash. 

Turn Your Pumpkin into a Temporary Planter

Another great option is to extend the life of uncarved pumpkins by turning them into temporary fall planters and adding an extra nice touch to your Thanksgiving and fall decor. Follow these steps to make your own pumpkin planter according to Mercer: 

1. Cut off the top
2. Remove the seeds and pulp
3. Fill the interior with potting mix
4. Plant it with pansies or another cool-season plant
5. Once the pumpkin begins to soften, remove the plant and add the pumpkin shell to the compost pile

Choose one or more of these ways to upcycle your pumpkins and feel good knowing you’re helping reduce waste.

What is Hemp?

Hemp is a form of the cannabis sativa plant and has been grown throughout the world for centuries. Products of this incredibly fast-growing plant have been used for textiles, rope, sails, clothing, footwear, and yes, even food. 

Hemp seeds have an outer (edible and very crunchy) shell that can be removed to reveal a small, soft, and pleasantly chewy hemp “heart.” Hemp hearts have a mild, toasted, and slightly sweet flavor. That outer shell is where you will find ample amounts of insoluble fiber to help promote digestion. Whole hemp seeds are often ground into powders that are plentiful in both protein and fiber. 

Hemp oil is extracted from whole seeds and can be used for culinary as well as topical purposes. It has a distinctive earthy flavor with subtle grassy notes. Hemp milk is made from hemp seeds that have been combined with water, blended, and strained. It has a creamy texture and a hint of that nutty flavor.  

The nutrition profile of hemp hearts is impressive. Three tablespoons (30 grams) of hemp hearts contain 180 calories, 15 grams of fat, 1 gram of each carbs and fiber and 10 grams of protein. This portion of hemp also includes 20 percent of the daily recommendation for iron, 45% of daily magnesium, and a slew of B vitamins. Hemp is rich in polyunsaturated fats, particularly omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that are coveted for their impacts on inflammation, circulation, and cellular health. The protein composition of hemp is also special; unlike most other plant-based proteins, hemp contains all nine essential amino acids, like soy and quinoa.

The Tom Holland-led film, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom), has entered HBO Max’s global top 10 this week, starting on Monday, October 19, per data accumulated by FlixPatrol. Nolan North, who provides the voice and motion capture for Nathan Drake in the game series the movie is based on, makes a cameo appearance in the film as a nod to fans of the franchise.

Uncharted received a mixed-to-negative critical response, with a 41% score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the adaptation fared much better with fans, earning an 89% audience score and grossing over $400 million on a $120 million budget. This warm reception from fans of the original franchise, in addition to general audiences, enhanced by its success on streaming, even four years on from release, has kick-started a sequel for the film, which is currently in development as of 2023.

Yes, leg day is hard and maybe not as rewarding in the mirror, but it’s too important to skip. Leg power is the first thing to go with age, starting its slide around 40 to 45. And of all the leg muscles, the quads are one of the most important, with stronger quads linked to a 14 percent lower risk of dying from any cause. If you can commit to 20 minutes a couple of times a week, you’ll be doing yourself a huge favor. 

We asked strength and conditioning coach Luka Hocevar, owner of Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance in Seattle, to build that plan. Then we brought in Harvir Ubhi, a chartered physiotherapist at PhysioMatch London who keeps professional boxers (including European cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley) on their legs through fight camp, to explain what skipping leg day costs you and how to come back without wrecking yourself.

How to Get Maximum Leg Hypertrophy in Just 20 Minutes

You’ll do just three moves: a reverse lunge, Romanian deadlift, and a goblet squat. With those three, you’ll get single-leg work, a hip hinge for the hammies and glutes, and a quad-blasting squat. To get this done in 20 minutes, you’ll do eight working sets, which is low volume but plenty for someone used to skipping leg day. Research puts the minimum effective dose for muscle growth at about four hard sets per muscle per week, and twice-weekly training with multiple sets ranks at the top of prescriptions for building muscle. 

This isn’t just a generic dumbbell circuit where you blast through the moves as fast as possible. Hocevar pushes for 90 seconds to two minutes of rest in between sets, which the research says will produce more muscle growth, mostly because it allows you to do more quality reps. He also has you doing a three-second lowering on the Romanian deadlift to take advantage of the stretch and grow as much as possible with minimal sets.

The ‘Involuntary Slowdown’ Sign for Picking the Right Weight

Don’t let ego get the best of you, or you’ll be more likely to get too sore and fatigued and skip your next leg day. “Using too much weight because of ego lifting turns into bad form, a shorter range of motion in lifts, and a higher chance of nagging joint issues or injuries, and also a lack of results,” says Hocevar. 

There’s no magic number for your dumbbells since a 35-pound dumbbell might be a warmup for one guy and a grind for another. Hocevar says the weight is too light if you finish your reps and know you could do five or more, and it’s too heavy if your form breaks down before you finish. 

“If your back rounds or your knees cave in, it’s too heavy,” Ubhi says.

Watch your rep speed for cues on how heavy to go. “You should ideally hit what is called involuntary slowdown,” Hocevar explains. “Even though you’re trying hard to move the weights at normal speed, the rep is slowing down because of fatigue. When that starts happening, you’re closer to failure, and the reps are more effective at building muscle.” 

Muscle growth improves as sets get closer to failure, but grinding all the way to failure (the point where you physically can’t complete another rep) isn’t necessary, and it leaves you more sore and more beat up for the next session. Stop when the reps slow down, with a rep or two still left in you.

Forget the weight you squatted in college, and forget the one you used before the layoff. “Start lighter than your ego wants for the first two weeks,” Ubhi says. Cutting your range of motion to move a heavier weight isn’t worth it. The updated ACSM guidelines say full range of motion is one of the few variables that build strength, and those heavy half squats don’t look as cool as you think they do. There’s a time and place for partial reps, but it isn’t here.

The 20-Minute Dumbbell Leg Workout

Warm up for a few minutes with Ubhi’s sequence, then get into it. Do the three moves as straight sets and finish all sets of one exercise before moving to the next.

Warmup:

• Bodyweight squats x10
• Glute bridges x10
• Slow lunges x5 per leg

How to Do Dumbbell Reverse Lunges

1. Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides and your feet hip-width apart.
2. Step your right foot straight back and lower until your right knee almost touches the floor and your left thigh is close to parallel with the floor.
3. Keep your chest up and most of your weight in your front leg.
4. Push through your left foot to stand and bring your right foot back to the start.
5. Do all reps on one side, rest 30 seconds, then switch legs.
6. Do 3 sets of 8 reps per leg.

How to Do Dumbbell Romanian Deadlifts

1. Stand with your knees slightly bent, holding a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs with your palms facing you.
2. Push your hips back and hinge forward, lowering the dumbbells down the front of your legs for a slow count of three. Keep your back flat and the dumbbells close to your shins.
3. Stop when you feel a stretch in your hamstrings, usually around mid-shin.
4. Squeeze your glutes and hamstrings to drive your hips forward and stand back up.
5. Do 3 sets of 12 reps.

How to Do Goblet Squats

1. Hold one dumbbell vertically against your chest, cupping the top end with both hands and pointing your elbows down.
2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your toes turned slightly out.
3. Push your hips back and bend your knees to squat as low as you can while keeping your chest up and your heels on the floor. Let your knees travel over your toes.
4. Pause for one second at the bottom.
5. Drive through your whole foot to stand. 
6. Do 2 sets of 15 reps.

The report also identified a renewed appetite for instructor-led workouts. Group fitness classes climbed six positions, reaching No. 7.

What the Rankings Really Mean for Your Workout

More than 1,400 fitness professionals evaluated 50 potential trends based on their industry visibility, not their effectiveness.

That distinction matters. Pilates outranking strength training doesn’t mean Pilates builds more muscle or delivers better overall results.

For most people, the practical approach is to combine progressive resistance training with exercises that develop balance, mobility, and coordination.

NFC East Race Is Wide Open

Despite not winning in consecutive weeks, the Giants still lead the NFC East with a 3-2-1 record. With starting quarterback Jaxson Dart and superstar pass rusher Brian Burns out for the year, however, it’s easy to question how much longer John Harbaugh’s squad can hold onto first place.

According to Yihan Chen, MD, MPH, a clinical physician at Biograph, maintaining bone strength requires more than calcium supplements or conventional gym workouts. The missing ingredient may be the type of force your bones experience during exercise.

Why Strong Muscles Don’t Guarantee Strong Bones

Muscles and bones respond to exercise differently. Building muscle doesn’t automatically mean you’re doing everything necessary to preserve bone density.

“Bone responds to load,” Chen explains. “The principle is simple: challenge bone with meaningful force, and it adapts by getting stronger, the same way muscle does.”

Chen recommends combining progressive resistance training with impact movements that challenge the hips and spine.

A 2021 study involving older men found that impact-loading frequency predicted improvements in bone mineral density more strongly than the amount of weight lifted during resistance training.

That doesn’t mean abandoning heavy weights. It means reconsidering what a complete strength program looks like.

The Exercises That Could Make the Biggest Difference

Chen recommends squats, deadlifts, overhead presses, and weighted lunges alongside appropriately selected jumping exercises.

“Schedule 2-3 exercise sessions each week that include a combination of progressive resistance training and higher-impact exercises, like jumps,” Chen advises.

For people who can safely tolerate impact, multidirectional hops and controlled jumps provide different loading patterns.

However, the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation cautions that people with osteoporosis or elevated fracture risk may need to avoid high-impact movements.

Fast forward to October 20, the official start of the new NBA season, and before any games are even played, the Phoenix Suns’ Dillon Brooks has partnered with prediction market platform Kalshi to take a dig at James. In the following now-viral video, Dillon is seen advertising the “King Blocker,” a device that helps those uninterested in hearing about the ins and outs of James. While the parody never utters James’ name, it’s very clear the video is about him. Take a look at the clip below:

And if the video wasn’t bad enough, ahead of the 76ers facing off against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on October 20, Kalshi placed billboard photos of the ad in the Big Apple. 

Why Doesn’t Dillon Brooks Like LeBron James?

It’s hard to call Brooks and James rivals. Brooks was drafted into the league in 2017, whereas James was a part of that legendary 2003 class. Plus, in terms of players that James has had to face off against the most to get to a championship, Steph Curry and Draymond Green stood in his way more often than not, and he’s on great terms with both Warriors players. 

Brooks and James’ beef really stems from on-court moments. During James’ time with LA, he and Brooks had several dust-ups on the court out West, culminating in hard fouls, harsh stares, and your run-of-the-mill trash talk.  Although, it’s also worth pointing out that Brooks tends to love taking digs at James in post-game press conferences. So, put in that perspective, Brooks doing the Kalshi ad kind of tracks. 

Why Does Kalshi Have Beef with LeBron James? 

Put shortly, there doesn’t seem to be a beef necessarily between Kalshi and James. The arguable GOAT really just has a branding deal with Kalshi’s direct competitor, Polymarket. Plus, Kalshi heavily favored James to go to the Miami Heat in the offseason (as did I), so when he opted for Philadelphia, all Kalshi could say was “wow” like the rest of us. 

Have Dillon Brooks and Kalshi Gone Too Far? 

Personally speaking, I think the ad was done in jest and for laughs. However, it does ring a bit odd that Brooks and Kalshi would invest the time and money into this ad and subsequent billboards, considering Brooks plays for Phoenix and isn’t from New York. Plus, I don’t tend to believe LeBron considers Brooks to be his biggest rival, or enough of a rival to irritate him, so the ad may just be wasted. But hey, what do you think?

With the release of the 31st novel in the series, Chain Reaction, Reacher teams up with a returning fan-favorite character, Susan Turner, who most famously appeared in the book Never Go Back. But that book was published in 2013, and Reacher’s first adventure was in 1997. So how old is Jack now? Shouldn’t he be like 60? Speaking to Men’s Journal, Lee Child and Andrew Child have made the case for imagining book-Reacher as ageless. Here’s why.

“The most practical answer is we are just ignoring it because that enables us to have Reacher doing what the readers want Reacher doing,” Andrew Child tells Men’s Journal when directly asked about the question of Jack’s age in the just-released novel, Chain Reaction. “We could obviously start writing stories where he’s lining up at the drug store with a Zimmer frame [walker] waiting to pick up his arthritis medicine. We could do that, but we don’t think anybody wants it.”

In a sense, this solution is a lot like the general approach of the cinematic James Bond franchise; simply keep the character at a fixed age, loosely honor the continuity of existing characters, but don’t worry too much about the exact chronology.

Then again, if one wanted to get really creative, a reader could simply imagine that, like the TV series, a version of Never Go Back still happened in the backstory of Chain Reaction, but perhaps it was just in a different year. Which, Andrew Child points out, is basically what the TV series has done: “In Season 1, when you have the bit where Reacher gets arrested and taken to jail, and you’ve got Roscoe looking for his social media presence, I mean it was hilarious,” he says. “Because back in ’97 there wasn’t any such thing as a social media presence. So Reacher naturally didn’t have one. But it doesn’t matter, because he wouldn’t have one anyway.”

Lee Child, Andrew’s elder brother, and the creator and sole writer of the first 24 Reacher novels, agrees that the only way forward with the books is to create a basically timelessness to Jack himself, which works, because even in 1997, the character was a bit of a throwback.

“He was still fundamentally a 19th-century guy in the 21st century,” Child says of Reacher’s analog preferences. In Chain Reaction, the larger mystery of the book is connected to shady data centers and unscrupulous young tech moguls in a grab for power. Reacher may not understand the specifics of the tech involved, but he is adaptable.

“Reacher is not a guy who will ever care about what happened yesterday or worry about what’s going to happen tomorrow,” Lee Child says. “He lives purely for today.”

Like one of Reacher’s literary inspirations, Sherlock Holmes, Child admits that there are bound to be some minor inconsistencies with a character that’s been around for this long. But he wants readers, like Reacher himself, to stay in the moment and accept whatever is the most current version to be the correct version.

“If there’s something contradictory between book 21 and book five, I would like people to just assume 21 is right,” Child says. “Because we should believe in the myth in the moment.”

The news comes over a year after Season 1’s now-series finale on Aug. 14, 2025. Revival adapted Tim Seeley and Mike Norton‘s comic book series of the same name. The comics have 47 issues, which were published between July 2012 and February 2017.

About ‘Revival’

Here’s the show’s synopsis, per Syfy:

“On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story, as the ‘revived’ appear and act just like they once were. When local Officer and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.”

Revival starred Wynonna Earp‘s Melanie Scrofano as Dana Cypress, Romy Weltman as Martha “Em” Cypress, David James Elliott as Wayne Cypress, Andy McQueen as Ibrahim Ramin, Katharine King So as May Tao, and Steven Ogg as Blaine Abel. The series was created by Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce, who also served as co-showrunners and executive producers.

Revival was added to Netflix’s catalog on Aug. 24, 2026, reviving (sorry, it had to be done) hope for a sophomore season. Koontz spoke with What’s on Netflix prior to the season drop, expressing excitement about a potential Season 2 while noting how well it fared on Peacock. “So now, if Netflix likes this and it does well, we could make a season with Netflix,” he said.

And Then There Was One

The Ark, from Dean Devlin (The Librarians and The Librarians: The Next Chapter), is now Syfy’s last original show. It aired its Season 3 finale on Oct. 14. While it hasn’t been renewed yet, the network didn’t greenlight the show’s third season until roughly five months after the Season 2 finale, so there’s still (some) hope.

Let’s take a look at the Cam Skattebo situation: Skattebo has 81 carries for 294 yards and 1 touchdown this season. The 3.6 yards-per-carry average isn’t great, but what has really undermined his play is his fumbling. The second year back has fumbled in Weeks 1-3, then again in Week 5, before not getting a chance to fumble in Week 6. 

I think every fan figured Skattebo was benched offensively because of his fumbling issues; heck, he said post-game that he understood why himself. 

I got punished for what I did and I understand it,” Skattebo said, via Charlotte Carroll of TheAthletic.com. “I gotta be ready when coach calls my name and that wasn’t today. . . . The message was keep your head down and keep going. They understand the type of player I am and I just gotta continue to do my job and do it to the best of my abilities.”

Pretty open-and-shut case, right? Wrong. After the game, Coach John Harbaugh was asked about the lack of playing time and gave this answer. 

“It was not by design,” Harbaugh said. “I mean, all those guys were taking equal reps in the first half. We were trying to see who could make something happen, who could kinda get a hot hand and earn it. Nobody’s really taking the bull by the horns… It wasn’t by design for him not to carry the ball. It was just, when he was in there, we didn’t call any runs.”

Okay… It’s weird they weren’t on the page, but that wasn’t even the weirdest situation involving a running back. Najee Harris was asked about the running back rotation for the Giants and was pretty candid about how difficult it is to play in. 

“It’s hard to get in a rhythm with one or two plays. The first couple runs will be like, ‘OK, how are they playing it?’ And then the next ones will be, ‘OK, this is how you attack it.’ But if you’re getting a play here and then get taken out for a series, there’s nothing you could do. That’s why I’m saying, ‘I don’t know.’ I’ve never been through none of this before.”

Harbaugh was asked about Harris’ comments and said he understood, but he also made sure his running backs knew they haven’t earned consistent playing time. 

“I do understand it, respect it. Also understand that that’s earned. I would love for us to be in that kind of a circumstance, a Derrick Henry circumstance or the Saquon Barkley circumstance … that would be great,” Harbaugh said, per Greg Johnson. “Our run game hasn’t earned that yet. None of those guys have. My advice would be to any player…’Do the most you can with the opportunities you get. Make the most of those opportunities, and you’re sure to get more opportunities.” 

To make matters stranger, it was announced today that Harris was being released by the Giants. It feels like Harbaugh is blurring the line between a coach who expects a lot from his players and someone who acts like a dictator. We’ll see how this plays out as the season progresses, but if the Giants start to lose, this could become a bigger locker room issue.

Some of the most common daily habits that contribute to fatigue include inadequate hydration, eating very large meals, relying heavily on highly processed foods that provide calories but relatively little protein or fiber, and using caffeine or energy drinks to compensate for inadequate food or sleep. Not Eating Enough

According to PWInsider, Ted Arcidi has been cast in Disinherited, a TV drama written by Peter Gould (known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul). Arcidi’s role is said to be a recurring one.

Disinherited follows the story of a pair of scrappy sisters as they’re thrust into a world of generational wealth and long-buried crimes after receiving an unexpected inheritance. Pedretti and Kiera Allen lead the series’ cast. Joining them and Arcidi are Alan Ruck, Katja Herbers, Eddie Marsan, Jonathan Higginbotham, and Avi Nash. Nash is best known as Siddiq in the hit AMC series The Walking Dead. 

“Disinherited is exactly the kind of bold, character-driven storytelling that defines FX,” FX Entertainment President Gina Balian said. “With Peter Gould at the helm, this is a deeply human story about family, power and consequence, that plays with high moral stakes. And at the center of it all is a pair of sisters for whom it’s impossible not to root for as we watch this David vs. Goliath story unfold.” 

Further information on Arcidi’s role in the FX series, which is currently filming, is not known at this time. Before building his acting resume, he made moves in the powerlifting and pro wrestling worlds, with a notable stint in WWF (now World Wrestling Entertainment).

Arcidi, dubbed the “World’s Strongest Man,” joined the wrestling juggernaut in late 1985, competing against the likes of Tony Atlas, Big John Studd, and The Iron Sheik. His WrestleMania 2 appearance saw him in the WWF & NFL Battle Royal in 1986, a match ultimately won by Andre The Giant. The final match of his WWE career pitted him against future WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts at a live event in Calgary in February 1987.

Arcidi’s acting credits include 30 Rock, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order. Disinherited has yet to receive a premiere date from FX.

LeNoble has remained steadfastly at Applegate’s side throughout her many health issues. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has praised him in interviews, describing his devotion to her. Applegate recently revealed on Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s MeSsy podcast that she was misdiagnosed with MS and doesn’t actually have the disease. However, she continues to deal with health problems.

“I haven’t gotten better, Jamie,” she said. “If anything, I’ve gotten worse. So I’m back at square one where I don’t know what’s going on with me. That’s going to be an online investigation that my doctors are going to be getting into just to find out what has been going on since 2021,” said Applegate, who uses a cane and has spoken openly about her health challenges.

Martyn LeNoble Is a Musician Who Was Born in the Netherlands

LeNoble opened up about his life in an interview on the Thelonious Monster site.

“I’m really lucky, my parents always had a great music collection,” he explained in an interview. “I grew up in a time when punk rock really came up so my parents always had those records around.”

He came to the United States from the Netherlands in 1989 with $75 in his pocket, according to that interview. Over the years, he has played in many bands, including Thelonious Monster, Too Free Stooges, Jane’s Addiction and The Cult.
