Deep Fried Pickle
The deep-fried pickle is the classic staple of the state fair in a number of southern states. It was born in Arkansas and has spread throughout the region. Like deep-fried cheese curds, the pickle has a unique taste that becomes electrified in a unique way when it encounters the deep frier. It’s a singular taste that hits the right note in your mouth, but unlike the butter or the Snickers, you won’t feel like you need a nap or see a doctor right after you eat it.
