Sweet Action Ice Cream (Denver)
Two transplanted New Yorkers opened what may be Colorado’s finest ice cream shop in the late 2000’s, using organic, natural, and, as much as possible, local ingredients to make handcrafted regular and vegan ice cream. Friendly hipster servers offer generous samples of some of the most inventive flavors anywhere. On warm days, a big garage door opens to reveal a long counter where loyalist customers lick their way through favorites like Salted Butterscotch Pretzel, Stranahan’s Whiskey Brickle, Thai Iced Tea, and Strawberry Balsamic. That said, the words the bomb and Baklava flavor are often uttered in the same sentence. And let us not forget the homemade hot fudge.
