The origin of this oddball theory is a mystery, but study after study has shown that carbonated and sparkling water have no negative effect on bone density. On the other hand, some research has shown that colas can negatively hurt bone strength.
It’s still unclear why, but it’s definitely not the carbon dioxide that’s forced into water to make it effervescent that’s the villain.
