The trick to making a better margarita is to keep the focus on the agave, the main ingredient in the tequila itself. “Swap out the Triple sec for agave syrup,” says mixologist and Men’s Journal contributor St. John Frizell. “So every ingredient in the glass except for the lime juice is agave. That way you can really show off the tequila that you’re using.”
• 3 oz blanco tequila
• 3/4 oz agave nectar syrup
• 1 ounce fresh lime juice
Mix ingredients in a shaker filled with ice, strain into ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a lime twist.
