Bent Brewstillery Nordic Blonde and Ghost Gunner Gin
Minnesota’s Bent Brewstillery is a relative newcomer and its Kursed single-malt whiskey is still aging away. Its Gunner Ghost gin, however is ready to drink and made with brewing spice and hops in addition to the traditional juniper. Bent Brewstillery founder Bartley Blume says his favorite cocktail, Kissing the Gunner’s Daughter, mixes equal parts gin and his Nordic Blonde ale (recipe below). “They accentuate each other’s features,” he says. “The citrus finish of the gin is complemented by the lemon juice and the citrus of the hops in Nordic Blonde.”
2 oz. Gunner Ghost Navy Strength Gin
1/3 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1/3 oz. Simple Syrup
2 oz. Bent Brewstillery Nordic Blonde
Mix all but Nordic and mint in a shaker with ice. Pour drink and ice into glass. Top with Nordic. Slap a mint leaf to open the aroma and insert.
