Rogue Ales Dead Guy Ale and Dead Guy Whiskey
Rogue’s Dead Ale has long been a staple of the craft beer world thanks to its rich barley flavors. Because of that malty character, John Maier, the brewmaster at Oregon’s Rogue Ales and Spirits, says that making a whiskey was the natural next step. “What makes the combination work so well is that the beer and the spirit are brewed and distilled from the same barley, which we grew ourselves at Rogue Farms in Oregon.” We like a straight pairing, but Rogue also recommends its Dead Guy and Dead Guy cocktail, Dare. 1.5 oz. Dead Guy Whiskey
3 oz. Dead Guy Ale
.75 oz. Aperol
.75 oz. Simple Syrup
1.5 oz. fresh Lemon juice
Add Whiskey, Aperol, Syrup and lemon juice to shaker with ice. Shake. Serve in a rocks glass with ice. Top with Dead Guy Ale, stir slightly and garnish.
