Absinthe and Mezcal With Smoking Rosemary

Light up the night with this mysterious cocktail, perfect for fall.

Besides knocking down the calorie content, smoke helps bring out unique flavors within the spirits you’re drinking, often making them even more enjoyable.

Here’s one of our favorite combinations: absinthe, mezcal, and burning rosemary.

Prep time

5 min.

  • 1/2 oz absinthe
  • 2 oz Mezcal Miel de Tierra Joven
  • 1 oz St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • 1 rosemary sprig

Pour absinthe into a rocks glass. Swirl to coat, then pour out.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add mezcal, Dram, and bitters. Shake, and strain into the glass.

Add ice. Light rosemary with a lighter until smoking, and place it in the glass. Serve immediately.
