The “beyond” part of domestic retail paradise Bed Bath & Beyond just got much better — according to recent reports, the retail chain’s soon-to-open Brooklyn location will be serving beer and wine on premises.

The New York Post recently reported that Bed Bath & Beyond, the retail chain selling bedroom, bathroom, and other houseware accessories, is planning to build a restaurant called Bay Market Kitchen in the impending 120,000-square-foot space opening in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

A representative of the retail space, Timothy King of CPEX Real Estate, said, “This will be a very exciting development."

Additionally, New York State Liquor Authority permits have been filed for a restaurant with on-premises consumption at Bed Bath & Beyond and Foundry Food Brooklyn, the latter of which is an entity of branding consultant and restaurateur Paul Millman, who filed the permits, according to the Post. Though the license was approved in August, it will not be issued until “certain work at the restaurant is complete,” an SLA spokesman told the Post.

Rumor has it that the Bed Bath & Beyond’s new Brooklyn location may be having a soft opening on Black Friday, November 25, so start getting those shopping lists ready — and be sure to reserve some of your budget for a bar tab.
