3. Old Elk Wheated BourbonGet it
Master distiller Greg Metze came to Old Elk after helming Indiana’s famed MGP Distillery for many years, and he brought this 45 percent wheat bourbon recipe with him. It’s aged for five years and shows a gentle maturity that sets it apart from rye-mashbill bourbon. A light sweetness is underscored by nuts and tobacco, delicate in body and silky in texture. If you can’t get enough wheat, Old Elk also offers a straight wheat whiskey that’s laden with floral, herbal, and oak flavors.
