11. Ragged Branch Wheated BourbonGet it
Most of the grains for the mashbill—66 percent corn, 17 percent wheat, and 17 percent malted barley—were grown at Ragged Branch Farm, set at the gateway of Shenandoah National Park, then milled, mashed, fermented, distilled, and matured on-site. The distillery offers both a core wheated bourbon and a double-oaked version that undergoes a finishing period in a second charred oak barrel. And if you like pairing a little beef with your bourbon, Ragged Branch feeds its own herd of cattle with the spent mash, offering prime cuts for sale at its tasting room.
