Goose Island's Bourbon County Brand Stout was released at the end of November, but you'll start seeing it on tap in December.

In years past, December has been the traditional time for craft breweries to put out their rich, dark, malt-forward seasonals. Think coffee porter, spiced ales, and perhaps a bourbon-barrel-aged version of a brewery's classic offering. They're still out in force, but in recent years we've seen some of our favorite breweries release sours, IPAs, and all manner of styles, along with the winter standards we've come to love. There is no wrong beer for the season, of course, and we're happy to try them all. Here are a few excellent winter brews we're excited to dive into as we roll toward 2016.
