Brewer: Westbrook Brewing
Style: German Gose
Though the style dates back to the 11th century, European brewers had all but abandoned this top-fermented beer born in Goslar, Germany, by 1950. But Westbrook Brewing of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, brought the gose back from the dead in 2012 with its popular sour wheat beer. Arguably the best gose in America, it's brewed with coriander and salt, just like its traditional counterparts. The pale yellow beer is tart and well carbonated, as refreshing as it is historically accurate.
