Eataly – New York City
Eataly may not have been the first food hall to open in the United States, but it certainly kicked off the trend. The giant tasting-inspired grocery store founded by chef Mario Batali and the Bastianich Hospitality Group (together, responsible for New York's Michelin-starred restaurants Babbo and Del Posto) not only sells a wide selection of Italian and American craft beers — it has an entire rooftop restaurant dedicated to the stuff. La Birreria serves unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally carbonated cask ales from American brewer Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head and Italian brewers Teo Musso and Leonardo Di Vincenzo. Hand-pumped at room temperature alongside antipasti, cheese, and salumi, Birreria's Gina, a thyme pale ale, and cask-conditioned witbier, Sofia, are as Old World as American beer gets.
