Cuban Pretzel Dog at PNC Park, Pittsburgh
Peanuts and cracker jack? Pretty much an afterthought at PNC these days, with the hot dogs that chefs pull off here likely to be one of the best meals you'll have all week. This particular hot dog used a Cuban sandwich as its muse. The Cuban Pretzel Dog in the Pirate’s home stadium is a foot-long, all-beef hot dog topped with slices of ham, pulled pork, Swiss cheese, Dijon mustard, and pickles. It’s held together by a sturdy pretzel roll. Catch a game at the ballpark after an afternoon exploring its downtown breweries or biking along the Great Allegheny Passage. Even celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern of "Bizarre Foods" has jumped on the bandwagon of designing upscale hot dogs, so if your local park doesn't have one yet, hang tight.
