Hot Dog at the Band Box, Nashville
It’s no surprise one of the best newcomers to the gourmet hot dog scene is found at a baseball park; but it’s hiding out in the minor leagues and under a very humble name: “Hot Dog.” The Band Box in First Tennessee Park serves this one up with peach relish and pickled onions. The beef comes from a neighborhood butcher, Porter Road Butcher, and the peaches are from The Peach Truck, which delivers Georgia peaches around Music City. Reserve your free hand for a whiskey-and-Coke slushie. The baseball park, where the Nashville Sounds play, is more like an outdoor barbecue bash than a stadium, and it’s quickly becoming a popular weeknight hangout. A nine-hole miniature golf course opens in July, adding to the park, which already includes conhole, foosball, shuffleboard, and Jenga.
