Spicy Cocoa Popcorn
Many folks don’t realize that popcorn is a whole grain and counts towards the dietary guidelines goal to make half your grains whole. The benefits of whole grains are numerous and include a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and cancer. Studies have also shown that eating your daily dose of whole grains can help lower cholesterol.

¼ cup popcorn kernels
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons sugar
¼ teaspoon fine salt
1. Make the popcorn in a popcorn maker or on the stove top. If using the stove top, follow the directions on the bag.
2. To a small bowl, add the cocoa powder, cayenne pepper, sugar, and salt. Stir the spices together.
3. Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl. Coat with the spice mixture. Toss well until it’s evenly coated.
