2 oz citrus vodka, like Ketel One Citroen
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz fresh pomegranate juice
1 oz simple syrup
Shake all the ingredients with ice.
Strain into a chilled martini glass.
 Garnish with orange peel.
Willy & Aisha’s tip:
Rinse your glass with Cointreau to add a bit of flavor (without extra calories).
To properly chill a martini glass, pop it into the freezer for at least an hour before you use it. Or, for a last – minute chill during a party, keep glasses upside down in a pan of ice water. Pull them from the water and dry them off immediately before filling.
Take a sniff of the lemon juice as you mix your drink. No problem smelling it? That’s a good sign. Research shows that people who have problems detecting the scent of lemons, lilac, and leather – among other scents – may be at an increased risk for Alzheimer’s disease as they get older.
