Gold Nugget, Kale, Celery & Apple Juice

Gold Nugget is mandarin variety named for its beautiful, bright, and bumpy rind. Their bright, sparkling orange interior is especially sweet. These delicious fruits are available mid-March through June. Combine it with nutrient-rich kale, plus celery for apple juice for flavor, and you have a mineral- and phytonutrient-packed smoothie with plenty of natural sugar to fuel your workout.

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed Sunkist Gold Nugget variety mandarin juice (about 4 mandarins)
  • 4 cups fresh kale
  • 1/4 cup freshly pressed celery juice (about 1 head of celery)
  • 1/2 cup freshly pressed Granny Smith apple juice (about 1 apple)
Remove peel and all pith from the mandarins using a sharp knife. Wash the fresh kale, celery, and Granny Smith apples.
Process the mandarins, fresh kale, celery, and Granny Smith apples through a juicer into a container.
Combine juices in a pitcher and serve well-chilled or over ice.
Store leftover fresh juice in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
