Protein-packed, nutrient-dense eggs should be tops on your list of real super foods. “They contain high-quality protein and the yolk is very rich in nutrients,” says Clark. “You also get a lot of vitamin A—an antioxidant—and lutein, which is good for your eyes.” And forget what you’ve heard about eggs and cholesterol. Cholesterol found in egg yolks doesn’t translate to higher risk of heart disease, recent studies have shown.
