5. Spinach
Leafy greens are a must in any healthy diet, and are super sources of lots of vitamin and minerals. “I consider fruits and vegetables to be nature’s vitamin pills,” says Clark. “The darker color the vegetable or fruit is, the more nutrients it has. So spinach—a nice, deep green—is tops.”
Spinach is known to be a great source of phytonutrients, or plant compounds that act as anti-inflammatories in the body. The leafy veggie is also high in fiber, key to reducing appetite and building a lean body.
