Iowa: Saftig
Brewer: Pulpit Rock Brewing
Style: IPA
According to the people at Iowa’s Pulpit Rock Brewing, “Saftig” is the Norwegian word for juicy, so it should come as no surprise that this beer is the brewery’s take on the of-the-moment style that is the Northeast-style IPA. It’s characterized by a decidedly thick, creamy mouthfeel, slight haze, and, most of all, tropical and citrus notes thanks to Mosaic and Simcoe hops. That this style is making its way farther and farther west is a good thing for craft drinkers everywhere.
