Sushi Ginza Onodera in Honolulu
Following three successful branches in Asia, Sushi Ginza Onodera picked Honolulu as the location for its first American offshoot in 2013. Inside the plain storefront next to a tattoo shop, sushi chefs at Ginza Onodera prepare Edomae-style sushi with seafood flown in from Tokyo’s Tsukiji Market. Diners pack into the minuscule seven-seat counter to enjoy multiple course omakase menus that include melt-in-your-mouth otoro, sweet crab from Hokkaido, and abalone from Kona.
