Screaming with citrus, pine, and tropical fruit flavors these beers showcase the painstaking efforts of modern day hop breeders and farmers, and the exuberance and ingenuity of American brewers. For all its aggression, the modern double IPA is also incredibly delicate. These beers do not travel well and we find their flavor and aroma can drop off steeply after just a couple weeks in the bottle or can. For that reason we recommend traveling to where these beers are made to find the freshest examples. And these 20, we promise, are well worth the trip.
