Brewery: Odell Brewing
Brewers have been using hops in their beer for hundreds of years, but there’s still not a lot known about what gives each variety its unique flavors and aromas. We do know that there are hundreds of different flavor and aroma compounds found in each hop strain and they interact in wildly varying ways. When choosing the hops for their Myrcenary imperial IPA Odell zeroed in on the varieties with the highest concentration of the oil myrcene, known for providing a bouquet rich with tropical fruit and floral notes.
