You get to choose the dishes for each shipment you schedule with Blue Apron, which offers a two-person plan (three recipes, two servings each) or a family plan (choose between two or four recipes that serve four). In an attempt to satisfy a variety of dietary preferences, its weekly rotating menu features three meat or seafood dishes as well as three vegetarian options. (There are no vegan options, though this writer was pleased to taste how delicious the vegetarian meals were sans the eggs or dairy that were provided for the recipes tested.) All ingredients are sustainably sourced and each recipe comes with a bag of “knick-knacks” from artisanal spice purveyors. However, those with serious food allergies be warned: All boxes are assembled in the same processing facility, so this may not be the best delivery option for you.
What sets this apart: Blue Apron also offers a separate wine delivery service that will ship six bottles — three reds, three whites — to your door each month.Back to top
